← PROJECT CONVERSE MICROSITE
Flash. Frame.
Converse needed an interactive Flash module for a microsite on Converse.com, built around a stop-motion paper animation featuring some of the hottest pop & rock stars of the time. DIGITAS supplied the layouts. Visual Goodness made them move.
As Senior AD, I created the paper animation and led the development team through the build. Working from the supplied layouts, we designed, printed, cut & crafted, and photographed the frames of each animation state using a makeshift armature and a DSLR tethered to a laptop for finer control over the captures. Once the frames were shot, we sequenced the states and cleaned up and aligned the state-to-state transitions in After Effects. Our development team integrated the animations and built the interactive carousel navigation, which shipped to DIGITAS for implementation. Paper, tape, and a camera on a stick, running inside a national brand's website.
